Google Chrome
- Open Chrome.
- Go to Settings.
- Open Search engine.
- Choose your preferred search engine.
- Remove or disable AdBlocker One Search if you no longer want to use it.

Getting Started
Welcome to AdBlocker One support. This page explains how to use protection features, manage browser profiles, adjust site settings, enable Advanced Protection, and uninstall the app.
AdBlocker One helps block ads and trackers while you browse in a protected session.
After installing the app, you can:
- start a protected browsing session;
- turn protection on or off;
- manage protected browser profiles;
- allow ads on specific websites;
- view blocking statistics;
- enable Advanced Protection features.
You can access AdBlocker One from the Windows system tray. Click the AdBlocker One icon to open the quick control window, then choose Open Dashboard to manage settings.
Protection
The Protection tab lets you control core protection features.
Protection On / Off
Use the main protection toggle to turn AdBlocker One protection on or off.
When protection is on, AdBlocker One helps block ads and trackers in supported browsing sessions.
When protection is off, blocking features are disabled until you turn protection back on.
Block Tracking Scripts
This option helps block tracking and fingerprinting scripts while browsing.
You can turn this setting on or off from the Protection tab.
Always-Protect
The Always-Protect tab lets you manage which browser profiles should automatically open in protected mode.
AdBlocker One supports protected profile management for supported browsers, including Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
When a supported browser profile is detected, AdBlocker One may ask whether you want to:
- start a protected session for that profile;
- always protect that profile;
- continue without protection.
If you choose Always-Protect for a profile, AdBlocker One will automatically open the protected browsing session when that profile is used.
You can manage or disable Always-Protect for each profile from the Always-Protect tab in the dashboard.
Advanced Protection
Advanced Protection adds extra protection features for supported websites and browsing flows.
Advanced Protection may include features such as:
- stronger ad blocking on supported websites;
- blocking certain native or embedded ad formats;
- Private Address Bar features;
- private suggestions and private browsing choices from the address bar.
Advanced Protection may require enabling AdBlocker One Search in your protected browser session. You can set this up manually, and in some flows you may also choose to let AdBlocker One assist you.
You can change these settings later from your browser settings.
Private Address Bar
Private Address Bar is part of Advanced Protection.
It includes features such as:
Search in Private
When typing in the address bar, AdBlocker One may let you choose to browse privately from supported suggestions or results.
Private Suggestions
Private Suggestions are provided without using your input to personally track you.
Private Address Bar features are designed to give you more control when searching or browsing from the address bar.
Allowed Sites
The Allowed Sites tab lets you manage websites where protection is disabled.
Use Allowed Sites when you want a website to load with its original ads, scripts, or experience.
You can add or remove allowed websites from the dashboard.
When a site is allowed, AdBlocker One will not block ads or trackers on that domain according to your settings.
Statistics
The Statistics tab shows a simple summary of AdBlocker One activity, including:
- ads blocked;
- trackers stopped;
- estimated data saved;
- estimated time saved.
Statistics are estimates and may vary depending on websites, browser behavior, and supported protection features.
Turning Protection Off
To temporarily disable AdBlocker One:
- Click the AdBlocker One icon in the Windows system tray.
- Use the protection toggle to turn protection off.
You can also open the dashboard and disable protection from the Protection tab.
To re-enable protection, turn the toggle back on.
Remove or Reset Search Settings
If you enabled Advanced Protection or AdBlocker One Search and later want to change your search settings, you can do so from your browser settings.
Microsoft Edge
- Open Edge.
- Go to Settings.
- Open Privacy, search, and services.
- Open Address bar and search.
- Choose your preferred search engine.
- Remove or disable AdBlocker One Search if you no longer want to use it.
Browser menus may change over time. If you cannot find the setting, search your browser settings for "search engine".
Questions
How do I remove or reset AdBlocker One Search?
Use the steps in Remove or Reset Search Settings. You can change this later in your browser settings.
How do I temporarily stop protection?
Follow the steps in Turning Protection Off to stop protection and turn it back on when ready.
Why did my regular browser window close?
If you enabled Always-Protect for a browser profile, AdBlocker One may open the protected browsing session when that profile is used.
As part of this handoff, the unprotected browser window may close so you can continue in the protected session instead.
You can change this behavior at any time:
- Click the AdBlocker One tray icon.
- Select Open Dashboard.
- Go to Always-Protect.
- Disable Always-Protect for the relevant profile.
Uninstalling AdBlocker One
To uninstall AdBlocker One:
- Open the Start Menu.
- Search for and open Settings.
- Select Apps.
- Select Installed Apps.
- Find AdBlocker One.
- Click the Three Dots.
- Choose Uninstall.
Uninstalling the app may not automatically change browser settings that you previously selected or approved. If you enabled AdBlocker One Search or Advanced Protection, you can change your browser settings manually in your browser.
